    Hi all,

I have a SIM unlocked modem + a pay as you go 3G SIM card from Three. However, using O2's APN (open.internet), it connects fine without any problem.

    How is this?

Easy :D your not connecting to O2, what I've found is that if you use the wrong APN with 3 somehow it defaults to the 3ireland.ie APN and I bet your IP address (do a www.whatismyip.com) is somewhere in the range 92.251.255.0 - 92.251.255.127 which are the addresses reserved for 3's proxy servers. Anyway if you want to prove different just lookup whatever IP address you get from www.whatismyip.com at www.dnsstuff.com to see who it belongs to.

btw probably more a Midband forum question
