Just did my last exam today, work is clearly something I will struggle to find...in the mean time I have saved up for a few months and have over 3 months with nothing to do... Would love to go somewhere quiet yet a bit mad, I've booked to go to La Tomatina in Spain at the end of Aug... Other than that, I'm lost without the library!

Well, in comparison to the last few years, anything but a library a piles of journals is reality!
Solitary confinement in a prison for the criminally insane?

Tempting...but thats what its been like in the library the last few years!

Find a new hobby. I give myself projects. Projects I've completed in the past have been to learn to play guitar, and learn other languages. Thats what I tend to do when given any meaningful stretch of time off without any responsibility.

I go to university in Newcastle, sniffing glue is no more a rage than a cog in the day to day functionality of this place!

Buy some covert video recording equipment, live on the street for a few months and then use the footage to make a documentary about the homeless. Win a Pulitzer prize for outstanding work in journalism, become famous, get rich and live the life of your dreams.

Get a job. Half a million feckless wasters on the dole mean there must be loads available waiting to be snapped up.

jersey fits the criteria - the whole island is like one large lunatic asylum. spent some summers there, its an often overlooked place but has so much going for it. work's a piece of piss to find, accommodation - not so much. the weathers great, beaches are amazing and the banters great!

Sign on and vent your spleen on AH as economic reality slowly deflates your sense of entitlement.

Then go to Australia and work in an Irish bar and vent your spleen on AH as economic reality slowly deflates your sense of entitlement.

What to do when off for the Summer:

    1. Buy a camera
    2. Video drunken hijinks
    3. Brag about how many umpa-lumpas you've rode.
    4. Sell to MTV
    6. Gain unwarranted sense of self-importance.
    7. Bang more umpa-lumpas.
    8. Die of skin cancer.

Ah, what's AH without a bit of sanctimony every now and then?

How can a student save up?
Either you didnt have alot of hours in college and worked most of the time or the grant is just too f*cking good.
I thought students worked the summer to pay for college. The OP seems to have used the college year to pay for summer fun.

Get on a plane. Go to Oz. Go to the top of the Sydny harbour bridge. And lay face-fcuking down.
