Heating system flushing

I've had loads of problems with this boiler - too much to go into - but now it's making very loud banging noises and sounds like something's about to burst!!

Was thinking the problem might be build up of lime etc within the pipes causing air pockets or similar inside - it seems to be a common enough problem and our water is very hard.

Has anyone ever used Fernox or know anything about how to go about this, and whether it's complicated? Worth trying before i call out a plumber maybe maybe.

    Thanks folks!

You should really let us know the previous problems you have had with the boiler as you really need the history of a boiler when looking at faults , also a bit more info about your system

    - is it a gas or oil boiler
    - is it a sealed or open vented system
    - what pressure is on the gauge
    - any recent work done

Your problem could be a number of things , from an airlock to a blocked heat exchanger to a faulty expansion vessel to a bust pump , but we can't give you an answer without any history or info .

What do you want to know about fernox , fernox is a brand there are loads of products available , which one are you talking about .

The title of your thread mentions flushing , but you never mentioned it in your post.
