I have a friend who got a letter from the revenue saying that they are due a refund of income tax for 2007. However they need to fill out a form 11 for 2004 before the refund can be processed? Does this seem strange?

Would there be fines involved in this?

    Thanks

The tax office will not issue refunds unless all o/s tax returns are submitted.

There could be a late filing surcharge and interest on the o/s 2004 tax if there is a tax liability on that return.

thanks for the reply, I wonder why they are only coming back now looking for the return?

What kind of documenation is needed to fill one out?
