    Hey,

    Someone might be able to help me out with this.

    Trying to help someone out with a bit of accounting at the minute.

    Leaving cert 2002 Accounting - Job Costing
    (a) Calculate the overhead to be absorbed by each department.

    How do you calculate the overhead????

    this is just one example:D


    Light and heat = volume in cubic centimeters

    12/24 = 1/2 = 24000 (48000 from the light and heat above divided by two)
    8/24 = 1/3 = 16000 (................................................ divided by three)
    4/24 = 1/6 = 8000 (................................................ divided by six)


    the 12,8, and 4 are present in the second paragraph and you put the fractions over the total of 24000
