I'm writing a reaction about how older people in our society are regarded and unimportant, I've said that ''some day we will be old ourselves'' etc and I finished by saying we must be tolerant etc,

My question is : Would it be fitting to use the proverb ''people in glass houses shouldn'tt throw stones'' after this?

It'd sound quite strange to me to see that in a context such as that

'people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones' is normally for when you're criticising someone isn't it? Just doesn't sound right in this context
