Do Priests Smoke?

I have never seen or heard of a Priest smoking before.

I watched Angels and Demons yesterday and there was a Priest smoking and I was shocked. Nothing wrong with it! But still, it's a sight I had never witnessed before.

Can remember my Dad bringing me to the Doc's when I was 5 or 6. Waiting room full of smoke. Called in, and the Doc was sitting at his desk with a cigarette in his hand. First thing he did was offer my Dad a smoke. I wonder had that something to do with my 40 plus a day habit?

In secondary school my class tutor/year head/what ever you wanna call it was a priest. Nice guy I have to say. And i'm not one who likes priests (nothing against them, just stay away from the church. Im still religious tho) But he, just like all priests tho are normal blokes.

Our priest smokes and plays poker. He took leave and his Nigerian replacement is in the pub all the time. Good on them.

Priests break the rules all the time.

A priest in my home county has openly been in a relationship with his housekeeper for years. Everyone knows and is accepting of it.

Some do, and I can tell you from personal experience that some high-ranking clergymen drink like fish.

I remember reading a piece on Pope Benedict's day to day routine and it mentioned that he's a cigarette smoker.

Yeah priests smoke. They drink too. Some probably get the ride (off a willing person of legal age) & some probably watch porn.
They are human.

Our local priest loves nothing more than a piss up & follows the horses. And he's actually a bit of craic to be around.

Our local priest used to smoke crack cocaine. He was fired about two years ago for stealing from the church. He was actually quite sound. Last I heard was that he moved to London to live with his brother or something.

There's a Chaplain in my school who smokes a pipe.
Great man. He leaves school when he's not teaching, or preaching, goes to his car and starts smoking his pipe. As I already said, Great Man!

Yes, many priests smoke. I've regularly see my local archbishop sneaking out of tesco with a bottle of whiskey under his coat. You would see people trying to put a name on his face, tell them who it is and they wouldn't believe you. I've never seen a nun smoke though.
