    Well, anyone playing or going to watch this? Hearing reports that Shannon is a very tight track. PP have Cutler as clear favourite for this at 7/1 with Dunbar at 10/1. Pat Murray next at 20/1. Anyone have any tips like local lads who might be worth backing?

    Three pals of mine are playing so would appreciate any updates via this thread as the weekend progresses.

    Eddie McCormack won the scratch cup there in April, was 28/1, now 22/1. He had a good finish at the Amateur Open in Royal Dublin.

    Jack Hume a big prospect for the future, maybe some value at 66/1

    Molloy from Ardee cost Paddy Power a tidy sum when he won the Dundalk SC, 50/1

    Played in the junior scratch in Shannon at the weekend and it was in very good condition. If there is no wind i think there will be plenty of low scores as the par 5's are handy enough. However, if the current high winds stay around it will prove very tricky. The par 3's are all long and the all the fairways are tree lined so precision off the tee is needed.

    My tip would have been Eddie McCormack as slumped says above due to his recent form but i would also say Pat Murray. Came second in the scratch cup in Shannon and is in good form as Limerick won Barton shield at weekend including a victory over myself where he didnt hit a bad shot really.
    Will head down to watch a bit tomorrow to see what the standard is like.

    Early leaders from this morning;

    69 P Cutler, D Crowe

    It's a tad breezy out there:D.

    absolute hurricane down there just like sunday for me. playing very tough and the greens look really quick. First shot i saw was Cutler holing his 2nd shot on 13 for eagle :D he's good alright. Saw Jack Hume get one of the best pars i'v seen aswell although it was a bit jammy. If ya shoot 75 out there today they should be reasonably happy.

    Might go up on Sunday to watch the last round. I presume anyone can go watch?

    75 C.S.S :eek: that tells you how tough it was or the amount of so called scratch,1 or 2 handicap golfers that are around.

    Weather is absolutely shocking down here in Clare so cant imagine the scores will be too good again today, i fact i could see a situation where the course will close for a time today with the amount of rain we have had this morning.
