Renting a boat on the Shannon

I was looking around on Google a bit to find out how much it would cost to rent a boat for about 3 days to go down the Shannon a bit. I saw one company charging about €900 for 3 days, which seems way too much. I'm thinking of doing it with a few friends, maybe 4 or 5 people in total. Does anybody know a good company to rent with and about how much it would cost? Any other details would be great. The idea is to just drive the boat a little bit, stop near some town at night or whatever and then go back to our starting point after 2 or 3 nights.

Just to add, I found a few websites about renting a barge boat that seems a bit cheaper. Does anybody know anything about them? Also, the location isn't that important. The idea is just to rent a boat for a few days and cruise around a bit in it and have places to dock the boat for drinking and eating at night.
