Its fairly straightforward. The hardest part is running the cables.
What are you looking for done?
    How many points and where?

Maybe wireless handsets and bases would do just as well.

I was thinking the same. I presuming its for hardware for Sky boxs or the like.

You can buy wireless phone sockets quite cheaply now. I have seen them used for Sky digi boxes. I think Power City sells them.

A good quality DECT phone system is FAR more practical to be quite honest.

Running lots of phone cable's generally unnecessary and also adding long runs can kind of mess up your DSL signals too. If possible, you're better off keeping your internal phone wiring to the minimum.

I've found Panasonic DECT cordless sets to be the best quality out there, followed by Siemens.

Also, if you want to add VoIP services, you can get Siemens and some other DECT phones that will allow you to add VoIP providers as well as your analogue eircom/UPC line.

All DECT systems will let you transfer between extensions and make calls between extensions. Some will have extra facilities beyond the basic ones too e.g. control of answering machines etc etc.

If the phone is GAP compliant, then you can add handsets from other manufacturers too if they are also GAP complaint.

For sky boxes or faxes you can use this : http://www.tvtrade.ie/wireless-phone-extender-base-and-extension-unit.html

It uses DECT, the same as a digital European cordless phone, to transmit the phone signals and the box you plug into the wall basically mimics a telephone line perfectly and even carries Caller ID and can handle call waiting R button services.
