I got an email from someone I went to school with years ago asking me if it would be ok if he named me as sole beneficiary on his life insurance policy. I dont really speak to him that much, [know him through facebook] I find this a little strange but can't see anything obviously wrong with it. Am I missing something?

Sounds like a spam mail to me...

Was it looking for anything from you?

No it wasnt spam. It was from someone I went to school with and know through facebook. Didnt want anything from me, just to know if it was ok.

How do you know his account wasn't hijacked by a scammer?
    It sounds strange anyway.

Plus, I don't think he can make you the "beneficiary" of the policy without getting your signature... i could be wrong.

If this guy isn't in your life, politely decline his offer otherwise you'll only have yourself to blame when he starts hiding in the bushes outside your bedroom.
