Weather looks to be dry for this.

I'm annoyed to be missing this race. Both this one and the Bobby Crilly the following week are great - just a pity it clashes with the RAS.

Remember, the Nationals are in Monaghan this year - a good chance to have a look at the type of course being used.

that report on the a3 race is a load of bollix. Bunch sprint me hole! I went clear with a lap to go, Darragh, John Kenny from Navan & Bryan from Ballymoney came after me but i held them off til the end. didn't realise til I saw caroline's vid how close they were at the end. Bunch came in after them, i'd have been out the back if i was with them:rolleyes:.

A tough, tough day on the bike. Headwind making a nightmare of it again. At one stage on a level section of road I was flat out doing 24kph - fuckin heartbreaking stuff. I'd gone earlier on lap 2 & joined up with a guy from Team Vision, we rode together for a while, but he was struggling having been out on his own for a while before i came up to him. As the bucnh came up, i went again, and stayed away for another few clicks.

It all came back together again for a couple of laps. on the 4th lap, one of my senior clubmates asked me if i felt good, i kinda thought he was just checking to make sure if i was ok. When i said yeah, he said "attack on the drag up to the finish line". I was thinkin, "aw for ffs", but said ok. It turned out good as i edged up towards the front, there were two lads from the same club flutering around at the front, giving me a good chance to attack. The last lap was the hardest thing i've done on a bike yet. I had visions of getting to the finish & collapsing in a heap. Would have been nice to pick up a trophy for the effort at the end. Very well organised race though, loads of marshals & great roads. Nice sambos & tea/orange juice at the end. Well done to the Lucan ladies too, 4th & 5th in the ladies race. Thanks to the LCRC vets for setting up roadblocks in the main bunch as well:).

Well done to tawfeeredux. He who dares wins. You must be due an upgrade now.

Was negative enough race had a few digs but found myself on my own and neeed someone with me to stay away . Nice hard course but the wind was heartbreaking. Yeah the race report was way off and also mentioned Caroline who wasn't racing but the lady who was was very strong and chased down a few breaks.

Phew-that's a relief. I thought the lead-out role had been made redundant;)

Imagine my disgust when I turned up at the first open race following the Mondello fiasco to find that my newly-recruited lead out man hasn't even bothered to show up! Had to resort to plan B. Bad start 100Suns, i hope you're out in that wind, practicing:p.

Won;'t you need an A2 lead out man now? ;)

FFS! Off the front I went with 500 m to go. Looked around and no sign of you! And now I find out you were in Emyvale and me in Portumna.:D

Not yet, only got one measly point for Mondello (1 lap more & it would have been 4!).

My first time riding the Emyvale GP, which was well organised. Course was rolling, with no major climbing, so it meant it was going to be a war of attrition over the course of the day.
By the 5th Lap in the A1/A2 race there were about 50 of the bunch left, probably less. That's probably due to the fact we were lapping the 23.8km loop in 30-31 minutes for every lap.
Horrible wet windy day but sure it will only make us tougher, isn't that what they say.
Very surprised nothing got up the road for more than 1/2 a lap during the race.
Eddie Dunbar has an unbelievable engine in him, non stop attack attack attack. He was in every move that tried to get away.

The only downside to the day was there were no Unplaced A2 prizes which is (a) uncommon as there is an allowance for these prizes in most other A1/A2 races around the country and (b) unfair in my opinion. A2's have to ride and compete with A1's so its only fair to reward them for thier efforts.

Great to see the underage races being contested aswell in testing conditions. Oh to be U16 again :-)

Hope all those involved in the A4 pile up are ok. Just about managed to swerve and avoid it. A result of negative racing I suppose.

Tough conditions.....great organising by Emyvale....sandwiches and cakes afterwards were best yet! Big thumbs up to those who made them!

    good day, bad weather.

Got caught up in the crash (A4) had to give it some to get back on was wrecked by the time i did. Didn't get into position for the last corner - kind of crept up when i wasn't expecting and at that stage it was too late and dangerous to get into the sprint so ended up crossing the line in about 14th - 15th. Should have been smarter with my attacks and positioning.

Well organised bar the parking. Tea/coffee facilities were great though. Nice rolling course too but if they had the finish 1-2km out the road it would have made for a better finish.

Glad you enjoyed the race. Appreciate the comments. Pity about the weather but I think people overall were happy with the course, marshalling and safety aspects were well covered. Great spread of food after, showers etc. The club took a risk reverting back to a course we used in years gone past but I think people were happy enough with it.
