Honda Accord Speedometer problem???

    Hey guys.I have a 96 Honda Accord and the speedometer has stopped working.Is there any DIY solution?I know I may have to change the speedometer but is there any other fix?

    Not sure about 96 accords, but most cars will have a speedo drive in the gearbox, could be that too. From the speedo drive some older cars had a cable which turns in an outer sheath, the cable could be broke, or if it is a electric signal your electrical wire from the sender could be damaged.

    I used to have two of these model accords, and AFAIK there is a sensor that is also used for the power steering as-well as the speedo.I think the cruise control is also worked from it.I have a workshop manual for these cars on cd, but it will only work on win xp operating systems.

    As far as I know, its deep :mad: down on the transmission on the left hand side if looking in the engine bay, right hand side if in the drivers seat.It should have a connector on it.Sorry its all from my memory.I cant seem to find much info on it except the yanks versions:( .

    Hey jimmy any chance of a copy of the cd as I have a 99 accord. Would be nice to have and if your in Kilkenny I'm not to far from ya.

    The cd I have is for the previous model, 93-98 so it would be no good to you.


    This is the model car I have the cd for
