Watermarks

I've been doing photography for a while now, with each image I upload I get the feeling someone is downloading without my permission.
I'm just wondering how would I be able to insert a watermark to my images to prevent this? Which program to use?
If it helps I'm a Windows user.
(Sorry if it's in the wrong forum/sub-forum, I'm new to this section)
    Thanks.

You could use photoshop of course or if you use lightroom you can add a watermark in the print section - you can print to jpeg file as oppose to printer. Google throws up a few results winwatermark and such, I can't vouch for any of those though.

I think if people download images it's generally for a blog or somethin to highlight/share your work, which is all good. If you size them for web someone downloading them won't be able to print them with any sort of decent quality.
