So there was a loud clunk when I started the car earlier and i checked the engine. I found the belt holder wheel normally on the alternator on the floor of the engine. It was clearly erroded and needs replaced.
My question is for anyone in the know, do I need a new alternator or is it possible just to buy a replacement belt holder and attach it to the pin, which is undamaged?

you need a new free wheel pulley or some people call it a clutch pulley...they can be got alright....your best off bring the actual pulley to the motor factors as there is a few different options on them and the only real way to tell is by the number on the old one
