Hi all, I posted the following on boards in another section and didn't get a solution to my problem so I google "Flickering Adverts On My Homepage" and it seems as if a few people are having the same problems....

Hi all, I have a problem with my laptop..... I'm running Vista and I only bought the computer in January, its a Dell.
The computer has been working fine but lately I could not watch videos so I kept getting a message to update my player so I install Flashplayer 10.
Now I can watch youtube videos ok but my problem is when I'm on Facebook and I click on a video to watch the video it plays in the top left of the screen and all the controls on the bottom of the video screen disappear, also another problem is my home page is Yahoo and when I'm on it and I move my mouse around the screen, on the top left of my screen appears flickering adverts, now when I uninstall the flasherplayer the flickering adverts stop but I cant play videos on facebook.... any ideas please???
    Thanks!

..... I meant to say that on my Yahoo homepage the advert (UPC) that should be located on the right hand middle side of the page is now trying to appear on the top left of my page and is flashing, and the area the advert should be in (right middle of the page) is blank....
I hope you understand my explanation.....

    and finally....

I have installed Firefox and still had the same problems so I uninstalled it, I installed Divx and I couldn't play video's so I uninstalled it....!

    Thank you......

    Few things come to mind.

    1. Check you have the most up to date video drivers from the dell site.

    2. Uninstall flash. Reboot then download directly from www.adobe.com and reinstall.
    3. Download google chrome. That has flash built into it i believe and may help.

When you right click on the video click settings and choose the first tab and untick enable hardware acceleration
