    Straight to Ryans after? :D

Again this year, all the money from the entry fees will go directly to the hospital with all funds raised going to the development of the Heart Support Unit. This has been a great fundraiser over the last two runnings so hopefully it'll continue in the same vein.

Haven't run it myself, but, it seems to have gotten good feedback from the previous two runnings, you won't be getting a massage from me this year though which obviously takes away some of the attraction from this race. :D

    Feck it - Entered..

Its so handy for where I live, and in a great cause it really would be rude not to

Uploading a route map. A mod might be able to add it to my first post...

Edit: Map is online now anyway http://www.stjames.ie/FunRun/Route%20map.pdf

Where would be the best place to park for this Heuston or Thomas Street car park?

You should be able to get street parking in Kilmainham, along Emmet Road, Bulfin Road or Inchicore Road.

Very short walk/jog to the start from there.

    Many others doing this...

Hoping I dont get delayed in work, as I want to run this, passes within 20 meters of my front door at one point - and I have run around all these roads a million times

Was debating doing this, but when I saw the weather this morning said no. Wasn't aware of the hot nurses though, might reconsider now...

The weather better stay this way. I'm doing a rain dance every hour to keep it like this.

*Disclaimer* - I cannot guarantee hot nurses. Unless that pic I put in your log does it for you vagga, if so, each to their own like... :pac:

Barring any delays at work I'll be up for this one.

    Really enjoyed it last year.

Apart from my chip time being WRONG  easily one of the best races I've ever run in. Was going to deduct one point for the start line chaos everything else made up for it.

Will be blogging a report shortly...

your chip time was wrong and there was chaos at the start and you give it 5 stars?
    Very easily pleased:D

Super race. Warm up was a bit of laugh and i'm delighted with my 28.42. A lovely massage from a very heavy handed physio completed the torture...... sorry i mean fun!:)

And a nice tee shirt I can see myself wearing, not a tacky sponsor logo in sight!

Missed the massage, as I had to head home and pack for holidays - maybe I will get 2 next year :)

Chaos might be a bit of an exaggeration. People just dived for it and there was a couple of people who shouldn't be at the front trying to push past some people who should be at the front. It was a non-issue really.

Anyway, for anyone who wants to pretend to care I've blogged an uneccesarily long report HERE.

Great work by Edwina and team once again. I will definitely be back.

This was very well organised apart from the usual walkers up the front problem. Didn't get any Mars bar at the end though!
As it was my first 6.5k, it was also a new PB.

The issue with chip times arises at most events where we provide the time. The problem is that with a high density of runners at a narrow start line the chip detection can happen at either of the mats placed at the start so a chip might have been detected at the second set of mats and not the first hence a time discrepency according to your watch. Its also the reason why the chip time we give is purely advisory and information and not the official finish time of the race. I hope it did not detract too much from the great event the hospital staff put on. Also it does not help when the front row of runners anticipate the start signal and go off a bit early but again that happens at most races. Solution is to move the mats forward from the start line but then that affects the chip times.

That's why I didn't deduct points. :pac: It's annoying purely because I came out bang on 28 minutes when it was pobably 27:55/56. :)

You coming on here after races to help people with discrepencies/chip times not showing up etc is much appreciated.

Yeah but if the problem was at the start line as Championchip suggests and you chip registered at the 2nd mat, your chip time would actually be faster than your watch time. Just saying like...

I'm assuming my problem was my chip being activated on the first mat but didn't stop until the second mat - I could be wrong, I don't really care. I was only acknowledging that I know chip times aren't exact. Thanks for that all the same though.

    Hi Folks,

I enjoyed the race last night, my first 6.5k and hence a new pb of (I think) 30'18.

My question is...where can I see my chip time?

    TIA

EDIT - apologies, I've just seen I can download the excel sheet, which gives me a time of 30'44 / 30'11

Just got the late entries names sent to me so the results are now revised with all names inc except for 2. The runner in 4th was a male but was wearing a woman number and chip #529, any ideas who it was. Also in 10th was 679 also a womans number and chip but the first female was immediately after that 130 Kate O'Neill. Any help on these two would be super.

Typical, I've no photos of either of them! I did get you however...

If I recall correctly 4th was Paul Gibbons

Hi, I was just looking for the race results when I found this thread. I came in directly before Kate. My name's Martin McKenna, my number was 678. Does that mean I came 10th? Whoop!
