redwolf had a recent video of a tour of the ares offices, Stoner LMG is still on the card and down as coming soon ( 4:50 onwards )

Thanks for that Puding, I had watched that vid but even though Fartlight said it will be available "very very very soon" there's still no mention of an actual release date. I've been waiting for this thing for an absolute age, the only AEG I want more is a HK417 but since no one has said they are going to release a 417 the LMG will have to do, but I can't even have that yet :(

It's supposedly in production at the moment and leaving the factory at the end of this month..Source:

    Hi Stepten,

Our LMG is in production now and should out of our factory in the end of May 2011.

Please watch out or make a pre-order at your local shop!

still looks like a m4 with a box mag to me :) missing the bulk of the m249 and m60 in my head

I am trying to remember where i read that the delay on the release was that cybergun were sniffing around on the KAC trademarks,it could have been arnies.

    @StevieGriff Thanks for that sir!

Isn't that the whole point? I know what you mean though, I have an A&K M249 Para and it is quite an imposing piece, letting the OpFor see you load it up in the safezone is mandatory! But I have a dodgy back (read: I'm too old & too damn fat) so hauling a full-sized SAW around the field isn't something I can do on a regular basis. The LMG ticks all the boxes for me, the fact that the mag doesn't hold too many BBs is a plus, I see it as the equivalent of using mids in my AR but maybe I'm just weird that way.

At least we have a date to work on, now all I need to do is sell a kidney to fund it!

G&P stoner is out, and has been since jan if you want a stoner for stoner's sake... lovely piece, and the vietnam version (seal issue) not the chopped up new one.

Like Decoy said, that's the point.. Were not all 6 footers who provide rear echelon admin for the majority of a 24 hour op, us grunts have to carry our rifles for longer periods of time:P

(Sorry bud, needed to get ya back for that short joke:P, your work was mucho appreciated)

+1 on the Stoner 63 ... I've been talking myself out of buying one of these since that swine Lemming posted pictures of it up here, obviously directed solely at me and my want.
    The swine!

as for carring your rifles for longer periods... I carried a 5kilo sa80 for most of cc3! man up! (the minimi is only 6.5kilos)

Stoner 63 btw, is 4 kilos, nice and light.

careful there :) if im on admin again i could be tempted to send you on a very long very boring 'mission' :P

i do you your point on the stoner lmg and the 63 ( i also make fun of james calling is 63 an m4 with a box mag ) the problem i have is that i see people using things like this as a way of basically getting an assault rifle with a box mag in a mil sim event ( same with mg36 for example )

4 kgs? What's it made up? toiler paper?
My 416 I used at Senny weighs 8.9kgs..
I have no problem with heavy rifles, but the lighter the rifle is the easier it is to manipulate..

hehe well considering last time Ozzie ran off with the command radio so we got no missions at all for ages, boring ones are better than nothing:P
I can see what ya mean but the support gunner of a section isn't gunna be storming buildings and galloping around like a mad fool, he should be fulfilling his role..

What had you got bolted to it, the kitchen sink? The SA80 is the or one of the heaviest assault rifle AEGs in a standard config by around 1-1.5kg with just a SUSAT. Nothing else in my collection come close to it in weight.

what is that hk416 made of lead?

well that is the issue sometimes, some people just use them as assault rifles , tbh it just comes down to how people approach milsim, some people see the rules for support and think great a nice role to go for where as others see the rules and see how they can push them to get an assault rifle and box mag

    3.9kg!! Major typo lol

Yeah true I suppose, and most LMGs than are light enough for assault role normally do have a fire selector.. Not just Safe or Auto like a 249 or m60..

On topic: The Echo1 KAC LMG isn't even in production yet, still prototype stage.

Hi Stevie, thank you for your interest in our product but it is a prototype and not close to completion.

    Thank you,

true you think they would have sorted the issues out for a fairly big release for them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

well tbh im waiting for a few more reviews, as with the tavor there can be big differences between production runs, larger data pool is needed :)

Started looking at this gun and I'd be the same, waiting to see if more reviews appear but fully aware that Ares never really seem to work out their support replicas

I have the G&P Stoner and honestly, it rips ass. Build quality is superb, as are all G&P. The only flaw I see with it, if it is a flaw, the rate of fire is that unbelievable that the 1000 round box mag just ain't enough. Reluctantly sold an A&K M60 to fund the purchase, 100% not disappointed.

I'm with Jayo on this; go for the G&P, it;s fantastic and if you don't care about it being authentic they have released a version with rails i believe

This .... is akin to getting a Thompson and slapping rails, a PEQ, and a red-dot sight on it. It makes baby jebus cry, and then scream "KILL IT WITH FIRE".

Remember kids, say "no" to heretical abomination.

Have to agree with you especially as this gun is near perfect with the iron sights on it......not meaning to upset you further but you can be sure there is someone out there with rails, red dot and peq on a thompson
