Spots.. on legs?

This is a problem I've had for years and years and years. Never gone to the doctor about it, never will go to the doctor about it, so please don't tell me to go to a doctor about it. It ain't happening. I'm not asking for medical advice, I'm just asking for personal solutions and to see if I'm alone in it or not.

But basically, does anyone else get spots on their legs, and if so, what do you do to get rid of them?

They look like spots you'd get on your face - not like big greasy zits or moles or anything else, just spots - small, dark, red. They're only there from my knee down, on my shins.
I used to think they were caused by shaving, ingrown hairs or whathaveyou, but then I didn't shave my legs for a few months (the joys of being single) to see if it helped but it didn't. They're still there. I've done everything from just leaving them alone, not shaving, exfoliating every day, exfoliating every few weeks, not exfoliating at all, moisturizing, not moisturizing, trying different brands of exfoliators and moisturizers, moving house (in case it's the water), moving country, everything - but still, nothing.

Has this happened to anyone else, and if so, how have you dealt with it? I'm completely at a loss. Haven't worn shorts or skirts or swim suits in years because of it. Hate the look of it.

Any help - anything at all - would be great! :(

Leaving this open for now, but it does boarder on medical advice.

    NO replies giving medical advice.

    Thanks.

Just a quick question - genuinely curious, not trying to be flippant - is it asking for medical advice when people ask how to deal with spots or dry skin on their face? If not, why is this any different?

It could keratosis pilaris or KP which is very common. Try moisturising with 'Eucerin 10% Urea' which should help

OP - a persistent and recurring problem like this should have you attending your GP.

Thread closed as I feel you will get better advice from a GP or professional.
