How is this signing of the season. He's not going anywhere......I'd hardly call that a big signing. More like things are staying the same in terms of Daniel Carter.

He'd getting injured more often then not now. Right move for him to stay at home where they can manage his game time.

pretty big consideng the allblacks would have been outhalf-less in November if he signed for Toulon or Toulouse etc.

Good for world rugby. Imagine messi not being allowed play soccer for Argentina . Even neutrals should be happy about this. Imagine having the worlds best back ( Arguably) being quarantined from international matches

Signing him on a 4 year deal and allowing him sabbaticals to go and play in Europe shows just how screwed the NZRU think they'll be if they lose him. I would say they would be very worried if they had to rely on the likes of Cruden, Slade or Donald. Then again, who wouldn't in comparison to Carter?

carter kind of distorts the outhalf situation in nz. everyone who shows some promise is straight away compared to him and that pressure has to be hard to deal with.

its a good move for both parties as carter knows he will be looked after and nz still have the best outhalf in the world. even if his goal kicking is bit off recently.

the nzru are not stupid. they are in a **** situation. the new zealand dollar isnt worth a **** and if they allowed non domestic players to play abroad they may put the itm cup and super 15 in the bin.
look at the trouble fiji argentina et al have in getting players released from the top 14 etc. its murder. francois steyn was a good example in recent memory .
when they are nzru contracted they can be managed under the collective bargaining agreement and get wrapped in cotton wool as needs be. if carter played for clermont- he would arrive back for the tri-nations in rag order. they would play him every minute possible.

its benefitted ireland to have all their players playing for leinster and munster (i know the irfu still allow offshore players in the squad) because declan can have a word in joe smidt or tony macgahans ear and ask for a wink and a nod here or there.so matt williams eluded to on off the ball.

This is a fine example of WTFism. I think I WTF'ed at about 9 things in this post.

Also, Carter is World #1, regardless if he's signing the back of a receipt, it's the best signing in the world!

    It actually is.

    He's the world's best out-half.

    That's of some importance.
