Am I right in saying the quays near there are closed off all day?

I need to get a taxi out to the Aviva from there at 18:30. Obviously I know another method would be easier, but I'll be rushing and I'm unfamilair with lines/dart/luas, etc.

So, should I be able to get a cab from Heuston to the Aviva around then?

    Any help appreciated.

The Luas red line is operating. I would say that taxis will be few and far between at 6.30, you won't be the only person getting off that train.

Get the Luas from right outside the door of Heuston. In this picture, Heuston is on the left and the Luas stop is in front of you. Buy your ticket from any ticket machine and just carry it on with you - you don't need to validate it. Your tram will leave from the platform closest to Heuston. Take any tram going left (to either Connolly or the Point, the destination doesn't matter) and get off at either Connolly or Busaras stops (which will take about 8 minutes).

Both of those stops are beside Connolly station where you can get a Dart south to Bray or Graystones and get off at whatever station your ticket suggests (Grand Canal Dock Station or Sandymount Station, Lansdown road will be closed AFAIK). When you get off the Luas, you'll be here (Busaras is the stop to the left and Connolly is the stop in front). Go to the building behind the buses (on the right), up the escalators and you'll find ticket machines on the left inside the door and a sign telling you which platform the Dart will go from on the wall in front of you.

You'll need separate tickets for the Luas and Dart trips unfortunately. The Luas will cost €1.50 or €2.90 return. The Dart will cost €1.70 or €2.90 return.

145 from outside Heuston will get you within 15 minutes walk of the ground. Hop off at Leeson Street bridge and walk down the canal and you will be good for the routes towards the stadium.

Nothing personal Losty, but you really ought to check before making posts like this, given the week that is in it.

The 145 is not serving Heuston all day today or tomorrow.

Best bet is LUAS to Abbey or Connolly and then DART to Grand Canal Dock. There will be disruption to the LUAS when the Queen is going to Dublin Castle from the Phoenix Park.
