    Hi lads,

I'm 23, have 6 years NCB and full clean driving licence for 6 years. At the minute I have just 1 car insured but I am considering getting a car for the weekends/as a project. Do you know if it is possible to insure 2 cars under 1 policy? thanks

Not with private motor insurance in Ireland.

Do some reasearch on private traders policys, they can be good if you have several cars..

What year would the other car be??? Have you asked your insurance company?

Try Campion insurance in Athy they do a 3rd party only cover for cars over a certain age 95/96 downwards. I think its 300 for the year.

This has been done a few times. No option but a second policy based on your requirements afaik.

Some companies offer a mirror policy whereby after 1 year of relative pain you end up with your NCB mirrored on the new policy.

I used insure.ie for that and now my second policy can be used (verified) with other companies as a 7 year NCB !

Best way is to get total shed and insure it for a year on the cheap.

    edit: -
I now have 4 cars on the road through firstIreland using 2 main policies and 2 classics.

of course there's the classic option as per above (again firstIreland do this) but it covers certain makes/models only and limits on yearly mileage

Marley, do you know who insure.ie are going through for her?

I'm with them but they wouldn't give me the option when asked.
