Moved my UPC box to another room & it's not picking up channels

    I moved my sagem UPC box into my kitchen from my living room. I ran a cable from the aerial to the box. When I reconnected the cables and turned on my tv & decoder there was a screen called Network Configuration. With the following:

    Network No = 51
    Freq = 218000 kHz
    OFDM Mode = 8k
    Mod = QAM64
    Code Rate = 2/3
    Guard interval = 1/32
    Bandwidth = 8 mHz
    Hierarchy Info = None

    I pressed the ok button and the next screen said it was acquiring network and a question mark? came up and nothing since.

    Can anyone help, should I reset my box?

    Hi Dave...

    Is it MMDS?

    If so,,Have you powered up the aerial? That's what it looks like to Me.

    You should have a little adaptor box that the cables go into..One is for your box,,and the other one is for powering up the aerial. You may just have them mixed up,or something?

    Ohh,,and make sure the little box is plugged in to a power supply. ;)

    Hi ya,

    Yeah, I've the little box plugged in and powered on. I have the cable from the aerial connected to the little box at the ANT connection and another cable from the little box's TV connection running to the back of the box. Is this correct?

    When i hit OK to confirm I get the acquiring network and a ?.

    Yup,all sounds fine there..

    When you ran the cable,,did you tack it down in a few places? Would a tack have went through it by mistake?

    After that,,Yeah,,reset the box..Can't do any harm to try that.

    It's been a long while since We had MMDS,but whenever We had a problem like that,,it was down to the aerial wasn't getting power. So you could always check is the power supply actually working.

    Didn't tack it down, but I bought the cable from argos, it seems a bit thinner than the original.

    I reset the box but some of the figures on the network configuration screen had changed. Still getting the ? on the acquiring network page.

    Thanks again.

    Hmmmmm.....

    All your connections are rock solid? I wouldn't think it's the cable being too thin. If anything,you'd just have bad reception.

    You do have the cables connected properly at the back of the box?

    For the record,,try putting back the box,to your sitting room,and connect it up the way it was. See do you have a connection then.

    I'm trying to work it out in My head here how it should be set up..I think I have the connections and power supply here,so I'll have a look,and make sure I'm not missing anything.

    Hi...if you have't fixed the problem try reconnecting the box back to the original place with all original cable..when the box initalises(powers up) you should have all you channels back. If not the power supply has blown i'd say!
