Playback missing last 5 minutes

Hi ....wondered before I rang sky (and lost half a day) if anyone has a problem playing back a recording off the planner on sky HD box and finding it cutting off abruptly with 5 mins or so lost. Very infuriating. This has only started this past week or so. Any suggestions?

under system settings you can alter how much time it records before and after a programme

I usually set it to 10 minutes to cover this problem

This is usually a c*ck up on the part of the channel operator rather than an actual problem with sky or there hardware.

I had this problem on the rte chanels and on tv3 then i noticed that the there was a live show about the queens visit on immediately before what i set to record so I guess that just ran over a bit that could be your problem.

Yeah add the extra time at the start/end, the automatic option seems less reliable in my experience.

The other comment I would make is if you are recording on two channels back to back across different channel numbers this sometimes seems to automatically stop a recording in and around the start time of the new show or in some cases delay the start of the new recording. Sometimes its worth taking advantage of +1 channels, or an alternative show time if available, depending on how often this happens.

Thanks Guys - I've added on the 10 mins, should sort it. I know some of it was RTE 1 and may have been down to Royal Visit - but not exclusively as I lost some of Chelsea reserves match on Chelsea TV as well. But never mind - we'll work round it!
