    Very Good Safety
Basic spec ok - e.g.steel wheels, non met paint

I'm not attached to a brand so would like all ideas.

My List so far is (no order really)

    Fiesta
    Hyundai i20
    Skoda Fabia
    Clio

    Any help welcomed :)

    Thanks

    Hi,

I know thats the best to do alright...

I am going testing this Saturday and would like some ideas in case i missed any.

Idelly , i'll like to narrow it down to 5 cars and test those.

    Yaris is due replacement soon.
    Clio should be the cheapest
I think all the cars you listed have 5 star safety.
    Hyundai has 5 year warranty
Fabia has to be the worst looking

I'd go with the fiesta myself. Or a panda and save a load of money.

New Suzuki Swift 5dr 1.3 GLX comes in at under €13k on the road under the scrappage scheme:

If safety is important, then that narrows the OP's choice down considerably.

Only the Fiesta, Polo and Honda Jazz have ESP, which is a proven life saver, as standard. If safety is a high priority, then ESP is just about the most important safety feature to have fitted to a car as standard.

The others may well have five star safety ratings, but I'd rather have the technology that prevents me ever needing to try and test out the five star safety rating in the first place!

Not sure if that money would get you a Clio 1.5dci Dynamique, but if so then I would jump at it. Safe, well equipped, very refined, good warranty and will hold its value. well Easily the best of that lot.
