Unless the returns for Dec 08 and Dec 2009 are completed or lodged with revenue within 21 days I’m going to get a summons.

Long story short went about setting up a business registered as self employed, didn't make any money. Reason being I got cold feet and just left it the way it was, went to New Zealand for a few months and forgot all about registering as self employed.

Got the letter in the post today. Warning me I haven’t filed any returns for 08 & 09.

What’s the best thing to do?

Fill in the 11E Form for 08 & 09 with pages and pages of ZEROS and submit it? I am a PAYE worker now is there a form I can use to de register as self employed?

I'm going to, I just want a heads up and see if I'm in sh*t or if I have nothing to worrie about. I can't afford an accountant.

You won't get any tax advice on here. Common sense advice is that Revenue are not monsters. The quicker you phone them and start sorting it out the better for you.

Don't start fretting about needing an accountant until after you've spoken to Revenue as you may be able to sort things out quite easily yourself.

I know I'm better off ringing them and I will just a little scared is all.

    seek professional advice.

This is not the forum for these matters.
