    Hi All

I Changed the Battery on 06 Merc E200 after a couple of weeks of the "Visit Workshop" with a picture of a battery message appearing in the centre of the instrument console.

The Message is still appearing even now that a brand new battery has been fitted.

I'm thinking this is some sort of error message which needs to be reset, either that or there is a second battery somewhere in the car.

Does anyone know how to do it?
I have checked for faults using a OBDII software but no error messages are appearing.

    Regards
    G.

auxilary battery under the pollen filter housing,
you will need to have the battery control module interrogated for faults though

    I see,

How do I perform Diagnostics on the Battery control module?
Is there an interface for it somewhere?
Is this something that I will need a specialized Merc tool for?
Where is the Pollen Filter housing?

You need a professional scantool to access this module, the pollen housing is at the base of the passenger side windscreen, under the bonnet.

    Yeah

    I managed to find it,

If I replace the Battery is there a chance that it could clear the warning?

There is always a chance, but this system has its own controller, an alternator, switching relay, couple of fuses..etc....
I'd be getting it scanned first, youve probably bought one battery that wasnt needed already and I think the auxillary is about 150eu from mercedes.
    So not worth gambling.
