Getting Screwed by the RSA

So I applied for my test some months ago (roughly Jan) online and waited to hear about a test date. I didn't hear anything (not even a confirmation e-mail about my money being paid even though it had been taken from my account). So I e-mailed again at the end of March to make sure I had applied right. I got an e-mail back and it said that I would be put on a cancellation list and notified when a date comes up. So I waited once more.

Today I've just received an e-mail saying that my test was on 10/05/11 and because I missed it they are taking my fee off me. I did not receive any notification e-mail stating when my test was going to be on. I rang up the helpline today and they said that they sent me one. I check my e-mail daily, including junk mail, and I definitely never got one. All i was told on the phone was to send an e-mail to their supervisor and she'l make a decision about it. If they take the 70 quid off me I'l be extremely pissed. Do I have any case against them here?? Like how can I prove that I never got the e-mail?? Anyone any insight? Thanks!

When you applied by e-mail did you do it through their website, might you have entered the wrong e-mail address. Did you enter a mobile number as my niece got a text giving her her test date (mine was delivered by carrier pidgeon:rolleyes:).

They should have a record (hopefully) and if it turns out you miss spelt the e-mail address they might be good enough to allow you a free re-test fingers crossed.

Anyway have proof of payment ready and turn on the charm, do not, I repeat do not get annoyed with them on the phone. Everybody makes mistakes and if turns out to be yours, by being calm and courteous the person might on the other end of the phone think you are a "nice person, simple mistake" and give you the free test.
