Hey Guys, was having issues with my PC the past few days, so I did a fresh install of Windows 7 64-bit. Now when I go to install iTunes I'm getting an error message "Bonjour services failed to start verify sufficient privileges to start system services"

I am set up as an administrator on my account and I have also right clicked on the set up file and "Run as Administrator"

Has anyone had a similar problem and if so have you rectified it?

any help would be greatly appreciated

    Regards
    Dunny

Have tried that but no joy, It will only let me install the 64 bit version anyway.

Try uninstalling bonjour again and download from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL999
If it still doesnt work go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services and look for Bonjour
Make sure its not set to disabled.
Try to start the service and see if you get a different error message

Hearny the problem is I cannot get Bonjour to install in the first place, so I cannot uninstall it, I used to link you posted there and still no joy, also as I don't have it installed, it wont show up on the list of services. Im def at a loss here.

Ok, when you try to install bonjour (from the link) do you get an error message, if you do post it here.

Try disabling antivirus programs while you install it (What Antivirus program are you running).

You could also try to install the latest version of safari to get bonjour installed.

Check your program files (or program files x86) folder for bonjour to see if some of the files from a previous installation exist.

I've disabled al the anti virus and firewall, also tried to install safari and also got the same error regarding Bonjour.

I've deleted the bonjour folder from program files folder and also all apple related folders and tried a fresh install and still getting the same error

According to a Microsoft Tech Support page:

    1. Click on start and then in the search bar type regedit and press enter.
    2. Browse to the following location in the Registry Editor.
    HKEY_Local_Machine > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > services > Bojour
    3. Right clik on Bonjour and click permissions and then click on Add.
    4. In the space "Enter the object names to select" type Everyone and press Ok.
    5. Now in the security tab highlight Everyone and place a check mark on "Full control" under Permissions to Everyone.
    6. Click Apply and then Ok.
    7. Try installing the iTunes again.

Legend!!!!! That worked a treat, i was having the initial problem that Bonjour would no show up on the list as it hadnt been installed yet, but then when i went to install it, the folder appeared in the registry and i was able to follow the above steps. Thanks again.
