    Hi,

I have a bit of paintwork I need to fix on the boot of a 1997 Mercedes C180. I brought to a paint work shop and they recommended stripping all the paint of the boot and respraying and re-veneering. That would cost €200 plus VAT.

I am looking for a cheaper alternative, I can buy the Mat touch up paint from the dealership but then not sure where to get the veneer and also I dont think thats a permanent solution..

Can anyone recommend a cost effective way of getting this done properly region €50-100?

    photo attached

    thanks

No ifs or buts about it - that needs paint. It'd look worse if you use touch ups!

227eur to strip and paint it seems reasonable if it's a good quality job.

The price you got quoted is quite cheap. I'd be biting his hand off.

If you got a good straight bootlid in a breakers yard in the same colour and fit it yourself it should cost a hell of a lot less than €227 I'd imagine. You would need to be handy enough as lining up panels can take a wee bit of skill sometimes. You may also need to change the lock and the number plate it goes without saying.
