    Hi,

I have a bit of paintwork I need to fix on the boot of a 1997 Mercedes C180. I brought to a paint work shop and they recommended stripping all the paint of the boot and respraying and re-veneering. That would cost €200 plus VAT.

I am looking for a cheaper alternative, I can buy the Mat touch up paint from the dealership but then not sure where to get the veneer and also I dont think thats a permanent solution..

Can anyone recommend a cost effective way of getting this done region €50-100?

    thanks

how long do you plan on keeping the car OP? if you plan on holding onto it then i would say just get it done professionally as if you do not do it properly yourself then it'l more than likely need redoing soon enough anyway. if you do sell if in a year or 2 the buyer will probably see a bodged job and wonder where else you may have done the same. im not saying you do or anything but something you do now can affect your sale in the future. although a 97 c180 probably isnt worth much anyway so maybe it would be viable to just DIY it, in which case, it may be better to post it in the DIY section.

Do the prep work yourself and then your only paying for the painting.

Thats a good bit of the cost
