    Hi,
I'm going to buy a 2nd hand car next month, starting to look now.
Is there any website that'll show the average mpg (preferably realistic mpg and not the offical stats from the car company themselves) for make/model and car year?
I'm guessing that the mpg changes for each version of a model.
    Cheers,
    pa.

    www.parkers.co.uk

this gives you an idea (take a pinch of salt) under the reviews section in the facts and figures tab.

dont think you'l really find exactly what your looking for. parkers.co.uk is the best for reviews and mpg figures etc. but they are from the factory. just subtract a couple of mpg from each is what i do :)

What sort of car are you thinking about. Most of the posters here will have a fair idea.

I never find parkers.co.uk too far off the mark.

For my car parkers stats 34mpg

    I get 38-40 @100kph
    and 25-28 urban

This thread states what I'm looking for.
Basically a smallish, very ecomonical car for to and from work (about 12miles) each day and into town and back on weekends. Should fit a baby seat & buggy in the boot.

    * congested- from Claregalway into the UCHG hospital- so not crawling traffic all the time but a lot of stop-start.

    Cheers,
    Pa

12 miles on in congestion. Sounds like a job for a hybrid...

I`d say if you name a few cars that your interested inthat some people on here probably have them and they could tell you exactly the mpg!
Mine is mondeo 2l diesel and averages 43mpg and thats nearly all city driving, over 50mpg motorway.
The other half has a focus 1.4 petrol and has about 37mpg average.

    Hi,
Sorry for digging up an old thread but we're finally biting the bullet and getting rid of our 2002 Saab 93 Turbo (anyone want to buy it?) and getting a small, boring, newer, more economical, cheaper to tax car.

    It'll be something like a Polo, Golf, 306/307, Fabia, Corsa/Astra, Fiesta/Focus etc.

My wife doesn't want a large sized car (even if it's as economical and cheap to tax). We already have 1 other large sized car.

Is there any (long) list of all car types, models & their tax?
    Cheers,
    Pa.
