Are the royal family the british equivalent of dissident republicans?

    Logically, neither side decomissioned during the end of the troubles, they both consider themselves the purists of their ideologies and both of them are currently engaged in bombing and murder: see Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Ireland. So essentially, could the royal family be considered the british equivalent of irish dissident republicans?

    Royal Family has legitimate support of the British people as far as I can tell.

    Dissident republicans terrorists don't have the legitimate support of the Irish people as far as I can tell.
