I travel Ryanair a lot and if you loose your passport they wont accept a police report. A backup ID would be handy.

Is that not what an age card is? Dont know if they would be accepted for flights though

An age card is only a proof of age card. Not necessarily a proof of identity

AFAIK, we don't have officially recognised ID cards.

    It's passport or driver's licence.

    Nothing else-for Ireland.

to the OPs SPECIFIC question on Id Cards - No - Its definitely not available if youre Irish.

As we all know Driving licences arent accepted by ryanair on any flights so is irrelevant to mention it.
Ryanair does NOT accept driver licences, residence cards, family books, seaman books, a police report (issued in the event of travel document loss/theft), military ID cards etc. Expired or damaged forms of photo-id will not be accepted on any flight.
