    Hey,

I have a good male friend who I hang out with all the time. We are just good friends but I do contemplate if we were more.
I am a slow starter relationship-wise and I know this is partially because I am always afraid to let go. In this particular case I am afraid not only of letting go but also I wonder what would become of our friendship if we give it a go and it doesnt work.

I do feel he is interested in me, we hang out together all the time. He calls around to my place once or twice a week and I hear from him most days. There have been a few clues to indicate his interest ( and probably mine too )

Should I do something about this? Do I wait and see if anything becomes of it?
I think I need to face my fears be it with this person or the next.

That's a tough one. If you two genuinely have stronger feelings for each other and want to see where that leads then it would be a shame to not go for it. However, if it turns out it doesn't work then it may well leave the friendship strained.

Personally, I think life is too short to think what if and I think you should go for it. How you do that could be important to the future friendship. Ending up together randomly one night and hoping it goes from there could leave one or both of you confused as to if that was just a sex thing or something more so I would say approach it more directly and ask him if he ever thought about the two of you in other ways. Try and talk it out maturely and if you come to the conclusion that it won't work then, hopefully, there will be little or no awkwardness.

Not knowing either of you it's hard to say if that advice is good or not. Some people could handle that but some people, knowing the other person wants more, could become awkward and put a strain on the friendship so I would be careful in how you do it. You know him so use your own judgement.
