Is it possible to change your profile picture....but in such a way that all of your friends are not notified that you have done so?

    Thanks

Won't they see that its changed anyway? Its beside everything you do that shows up on their walls.

    Hi aidan,

Yes they will see that I have changed it.......it's just I hate the way that everyone is informed that you have just changed it! Pretty new to facebook by the way.

I'm sure this can be controlled via the privacy settings (Account > Privacy Settings), but as it's something I've never worried about I've no idea if it falls under photos, a status update, or something completely different.

If you're really concerned, you can block access to pretty much everything, change the photo and then open up the access again.

Its not really a privacy setting either, thats more to do with the information people can see about you as a whole and not individual changes. The only thing you could really do is remove the post from your wall, but you would need to do this each time you change your image.

you could just delete the notification as soon as youve done it. go to your profile wall. and hover the mouse over the top right corner of the post about it - youll see an x and delete
