Apologies if this is in the wrong thread (feel free to move it!) but does anyone know what time ii should arrive at Cork airport this Friday? Someone told me 11, the garda website says before 1 and Cork airport site says they are operating as normal but nothing about what time to arrive! I know that the roads around the airport are closing at 1.

    from http://www.garda.ie/QueenCorkTipperary.htm:
On the 20th May 2011, Cork Airport and the surrounding areas will be affected by some Traffic Restrictions.

From 13.30 hrs on this date to 16.00hrs, the road from the Roundabout at the entrance to the Cork Airport to the Kinsale Road Roundabout will be subject to restrictions to both pedestrians and traffic at various times. This will have the effect of also restricting the traffic from all sideroads leading to this road during these particular times.

People are advised that their will be no parking on this road and the roads immediately surrounding the airport. No pedestrian viewing will be allowed.

It is important that people intending to travel via Cork Airport on this date plan their journey well in advance, and contact their carriers. Also be aware that if intending to travel between 13.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs on the 20th May 2011 please be at the airport prior to 13.00 hrs.

I take that as "if you have a flight between 1pm and 5pm and want to guarantee that you are on the flight, be at the airport before 1pm". You could chance your arm and arrive later with a high chance of being delayed 30-60mins as the VIP convoy makes it way through Cork...

IMO, Government should have just declared a national holiday and told everyone to have a few days off so they could keep the streets nice and quiet... :/
