    Young man dies while acting the plank

    Planking involves participants lying flat on their stomach in different and sometimes dangerous settings and sharing photographs of their efforts on Facebook or other social media sites.


    The craze has gone viral in recent weeks with Facebook page Planking Australia boasting over 55,000 fans and hundreds of photos of people lying on train tracks, escalators, fire hydrants, motorbikes and other objects.


    Police say it appears Acton Beale, 20, was planking when he fell seven storeys to his death from an inner-city Brisbane apartment block in the early hours of Sunday morning.
