Seperating Water from Rads

Hope someone can give me some advice here as definately out of my depth....

Shortly I'm going to be replacing the laminate I have down in the house, and replacing it with superior laminate ..

Anyhow when I had a BER Accesor over the other week , he said that if I was putting down new floors I should get someone to lay extra pipes from the Gas boiler to the
hot press so as down the line I would have the option have two zone, one for rads and one for hot water....

Is seems like a good idea and makes sense as I'm pulling up the floors...
Is this an exspensive job ???Even just to lay the pipes so they are there..

    cheers

A bit more info would be handy...

    Are you in a bungalow
Is it a solid concrete floor
Is the boiler and hotpress on the same floor
What's the distance between the boiler and hotpress

cant see why extra pipes required , why not just put an actuator valve on pipes that are already there in hot press , need further info.

Because it might not be possible to do it that handy , the pipes might split to the rads circuit from the hotpress it might just be one circuit

cylinder stat + 2 port valve, maybe change pipework layout at hotpress .(not enough details supplied) cant really see too much of a problem though.

It all depends on how the house is piped , not all houses have a primary circuit to the coil and then a secondry radiator circuit teed in at the hotpress, some places just have everything on the one circuit with rads teed in before the pipe run reaches the hot press area , if that was the case he would need a set of pipes ran back to the boiler. to seperate hot water and heating back there .

lots of guess work without further details.

It shouldn't be too much hassle to get the pipes in ,it wouldn't be the end of the world though if you didn't.

Exactly what I was trying to say , you just made it a bit clearer :)

Yes thats perfectly right, the new set of pipes can feed the coil direct, and the original connections into the coil can just be blanked off, if there are rads teed off before the main pipe reaches cylinder position. Probably want one of them automatic air vents at the coil position then as well if the cylinder is upstairs.

The rad`s motorised valve would have to be fitted at the boiler end then, and the coil one could be fitted either end, although realistically it will be beside the cylinder where the tank stat will be probably.
