yea mine has been off and on all day and I'm in the same area. I reported the fault and added that it's the third week in a row that it's happened so mayhap this will be the last time

There's a thread about this every couple of weeks. Why in the name of christ do people stick with UPC? Everyone I've ever spoken to has told me the service is atrocious.

That's strange. I know of people who rave about it.

Had UPC installed about 8 months ago. It's only ever been off for about an hour in total during that time. The download speed is fantastic and customer service were very good when I rang. No complaints. I'm running two credit card machines and 5 PC's on it so I need it to be good and it is.

I have it years, across 2 houses in that time and one business, and i have never had a problem from initial ordering to installation and now as a everyday customer.. channels got a bit jumpy there on yesterday with the wind and BB went down for all of 4 minutes.. other than that i have had very little trouble..

have to say that in spite of the glitches such as the last 3 weeks I find the service to be top notch. I've used various providers since before there was a (legal) way of getting Internet in Waterford and this is the best I've found overall.

Still, the Internet is not a patch on the old BBS :p

Yeah but most of the young people here have probably never heard of BBSes. :) Imagine if they found out that there was Internet before the web. That said, UPC is probably the best and highest bandwidth internet available in Waterford at the moment.

it is a true thing that you say. I remember yours was the serious local BBS, the other one was where the low res soft porn pics were to be found. Innocent days :p

I mentioned to UPC the last time the service went down that they had become a topic for discussion on Boards and they were not happy at the publicity. Maybe it helped, who knows.

What a joke, it took three days for them to sort out my problem.

They were doing work on monday morning in my estate, and the guy disconnected everything, when he reconnected everything he connected my house incorrectly.

So because it only affected my house it meant it wasnt an immediate problem and there was "nothing they could do."

Flash forward to day three of no phone, television or internet and they finally send a van out at 4pm, said it to the guy who was a nice chap to be fair, "I bet its not connected properly after the guy working the other day", bingo....

Wouldnt want to be running a business or anything.
