Studentship at National Library

Did you end up applying for this ? I did but I havent heard anything back from them so I don't think I made the cut.....depressing

I did apply last last year (office of manuscripts), but they wouldn't take me as I was still finishing my thesis.

I spent the entire year sitting on my application waiting to reapply, but when I checked a week or so ago I'd missed the deadline by two days...ouch!

Yeah I did apply for more than one actually and I haven't heard anything back either Hopefully they have not shortlisted yet..

I applied for this this time last year, got an interview, but unfortunately not the job. They sent me out a letter to inform me that I had been unsuccessful.

The interview itself was the first one of it's kind that I had ever been to. At first it seemed quite intimidating, with a panel of four interviewers from different aspects of the library, but once I got into the swing of things I was a little more relaxed.

I went on to do the Library postgrad in UCD and finished up last month! Raging I missed the deadline this year, maybe next year!

Thanks! Can you remember when you got interviewed? It says on the add that they are accepting applications until the 15th of June.

I know I'm really really late but I had an interview about 12 days ago and haven't heard anything back...

How long did it take before you got your letter in the post?

Sorry for bringing up an old post but just wondering if anyone has experience with these studentships? I interviewed a few years ago but came second in the competition. I've since been working as a genealogy researcher but still feel I would like to work in archives/libraries and thinking I might do the Library and Information Studies UCD postgrad. So I'm thinking about applying for the studentships for 2015.

I would have to move to Dublin, so also wondering what the pay is like and if I could realistically live off of it?
