What's My Age Again?

Jack Tretton, president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, went medieval on Mario in an interview with Fortune, claiming the 3DS would be an embarrassing accessory for the trendy modern pleasure seeker. "No self-respecting twentysomething is going to be sitting on an airplane with one of those," he raged. "He's too old for that."

As a 26 year old who just bought a 3DS, and has been a gamer for many years, I think Jack is wrong and actually the 3DS is a worthwhile accessory that will prove itself more over the coming months.

I'd be interested to know from people here, who have both the 3DS, DS and Wii, what age groups you fit into to? And do you consider the 3DS a child's toy?

Nintendo have been producing handheld's and consoles for as long as I've had memory enough to play them, if I can't grow up with gaming, what else is there to do?

Jack Tretton needs to reassess his attitude. Sony badly need a good PR team, now more than ever. Every quote thats published I just cringe at lately.

The irony of him talking about public embarresment is also highly prevailant.

I'm 31 and have no problem sitting on any form of public transport playing my 3ds (or ds or gba or gameboy micro).

Well, he also lambasted the Wii some time ago, and gave the impression that Sony had no intention of venturing down a similar path......
    Spucking Fanner.

Staring at an "Error 80710A06" message for a number of weeks is, apparently, a far more respectable use of time. :pac:

My daily routine involves playing quite a lot of Pokémon, and I don't see that changing much as I get older. Why let your age dictate what you can and cannot do?

I'm 35 and a rabid pokemon fan...I probably buck the stereotype a bit but I'm gaggin for some pokebattles on my 3DS! Poor ole Sony PR have other things to be worried about right now and I'd deal with that if I were them.

(just for clarity, I also have a pspgo and am affected by the breach - I'm a ninty fanboy but I don't restrict my pleasures...)

Being in my 30's and with a small family, job, shít to do, the only time I really get a chance to game is with a handheld. I'd be feckin lost without the handheld!!

Well at least this will be one e3 Sony can't possibly verbally attack Nintendo.
They might even be hard pressed trying to verbally attack Microsoft at this point.

I'm sure the PR team will green light something to no doubt cause further embarresment to the brand don't worry :D

I'd be more embarassed to be known as a 'trendy modern pleasure seeker' to be honest.

You know what is more embarassing than sitting on a plane playing a 3DS?

    Sony's PSN security hiccup.

Yes, clearly it's a child's toy when you see grandmothers playing Professor Layton on the bus.

Just more smack talk from Sony, I doubt anyone actually believes a word they say about their competitors.
