Saw a motorbiker this morning on a 07 D black honda with what appeared were wearing Fluorescent top (over what seemed like ususal leathers) white helmet with some device like a camera on it (perhaps comms). Nothing spectacular in that but seemed to have extra unlight lights just like unmarked Garda cars.

Seemed like a Garda but first I've seen on a bike without any Garda signage?

probably just a biker making use of protective colouring, the closer to a real garda, the more respect he'll get on the road.

Quite possibly undercover with all these visits we are expecting.

    Highly possible.

They do have unmarked bikes. Not many, but there's a few about.

You've just described myself and the missus bar the model and make of bike on our trips to work.

A far few bikers wear comms equiptment these days for phone calls, gps and talking to other bikers when riding. Nothing unusual really.

From what ive heard under cover bike cops are indestingusable from normal bikers, some are even disgused as dirty couriers.

Yep, the only thing unusual was the square clear lights fitted to the bike at the back near the normal ones. Look like the ones you switch on as the undercover cops have in their windscreen area. Just missed getting a pic.....

Thats exactly what it is, I spotted a few of them over the years, some looked like they could be arrested for impersonating a guard.

...funny you should mention that...........several years ago, I had to travel to Dublin for riding evaluation, by a Garda, for an an advanced riding course.

On the day, I arrived to find an identically-coloured BMW to my own (Silver), and I had a black outfit and Sam Browne belt. Ditto the Member, although his gear was leather, and his helmet white (mine silver).

Anyhoo, one test was to travel the M50 at 70mph, and he observed my riding.

Now, if you saw not one, but 2, similarly-coloured, similarly clad bikes, zooming along the M50 in your rear view mirror.........well, let's just say............it was like the parting of the Red Sea, the way people moved out of the way. It's amazing what people 'think' they see !!

When we parked up in Lucan, when the entrance to the Golf Club was opposite the petrol station, and were off the bikes, and he giving me pointer's etc, well, you should have seen people throwing out the anchor's when they saw the bikes parked side-by-side on the side of the carriageway.......

    ...funny, really. :D

I'd well believe it. I've seen people pull out of the way for a car with a flashing orange construction light on top.
