Usually people with curly hair use it to reduce frizz and give more of a shape to the actual curl.
For me, mousse is good for making my naturally wavy hair fall into proper waves and not a tangled mess. I always use it on damp hair.
It depends what your natural hair type is like, you could put it into damp hair and scrunch it to give a wave to straight hair if you faniced something different. Can create volume aswell-like a mild hairspray.

You can get mousse for all types of hair. I have straight hair and i put volumising mousse in before drying it, it just gives your hair a bit more bounce =)

I put mousse in my hair for volume; it also brings out the natural wave so that my hair looks healthy instead of straggly! I usually put it in, blowdry for a minute or so, then tie it in a bun when it's still a bit damp. Take it out an hour later and boom! Fantastically bouncy hair :)
