I almost exclusively use a straight razor now. Every now and then the DE will get a run out though.

Seems like I missed an option. A rock.

A selection of DEs during the week but try and get at least one shave in with a straight on a weekend.

Im still rocking the Mach 3. But using it with one of these Razor pit gadgets. Serious job.

I'm starting to learn how to straight shave, but mainly I'm using a D.R. Harris DE razor with Gilette 7 O'Clock green blades.

I voted Double Edge and beard... I can never make my mind up! :p

Actually, the truth is that even with a beard I still use a razor to clean it up (top line, neck line etc..) :)

Voted for straight myself as I've only used my DE a total of once since I started using straights. Don't get me wrong DE's are fantastic and they're 10 fold better than any Gillette I've used but I find simply get a more comfortable shave with straights and I get pretty damn close in terms of a close shave to my DE. Sometimes I feel bad about not using my DE anymore, it's kind of like ditching an old friend and hanging out with the "cooler" gang, I feel I still owe it something after all the nice shaves it gave me. The temptation for me is too great though to just pick up my C.V. Heljestrand pre 1900's frameback razor and watch the hair literally jump of my face in fear :)

I had the same feeling when I started using straights. I had 5 DE's and an SE but sold them all apart from my Merkur 34C. I use the 34C once a week and each of my 6 straight once a week too. It's a rotation I quite like at the moment although I imagine the 34C will be sold at some point.

I'm really liking the shaves that frameback gives. It feels really nimble like a smaller razor but has a stiffness about it that I like.

    I voted Mach3 and Beard

I alternate between clean shaven and bearded phases!

maybe to a travel bag, i'm on the road a lot with work on planes and it might be easier to get it through as carry on baggage than a safety razor...

..ah yes. One advantage of the carts, oddly my straight is not allowed in carryon. Can't think why. :)

Cool, I've yet to try any other frameback razors so I wouldn't call myself true fan yet, but I'd defo try another if I saw one that took my fancy. Here's a pick of mine:

One thing I'll say about them is they look pretty mean but in reality they are excellent shavers and just as good or better than some of the fancy Solingen blades

Swedish steel is quite highly regarded for straight razors. I'm sure I'll pick up a Swedish frameback at some point. The only question is, wether or not I'll sell one of my others straights first?
