Rent Allowance Question

Hi I am 25 years old and currently pregnant, due my baby the end of July.

So things haven't worked out with the baby's dad. We have decided to go our separate ways.

His family live in a different county to me but have insisted on wanting to help out with the baby, I would love to move counties and get all the help they are offering because my own family have asked me to move form family home.

I read on the citizens advice that you have to be living in the area before you can apply for Rent allowance in an area, my problem is I cannot afford to rent.

Does anyone know if there is anyway you are entitled to rent allowance in a different county without living there 1st.

    Many thanks

How about getting a job, and allowing him or his parents to mind your baby while you are working (seeing as how they're willing to help)? Then you will have your own cash and can afford to rent anywhere. (I'm being genuine btw)

Hi there thanks a million for your reply, on Maternity Benefit you are not allowed to work. So therefore I need to find somewhere to live that I can afford and with Maternity Benefit it would be impossible to rent and live..
