    it's not about the money.

    it's like, that art, man.

(actually of all actors out there, those two re not great examples of money hungry-ness)

In fairness, both give a heck of a lot to charity, so if the paymaster is willing to shell out, they can do with it what they like.
...And it appears they put a lot of their money to good use it seems.

Yes, with money you can buy rich decent friends, happiness and health.
If I had all the money in the world I would still want more.

Do people really believe that Bill Hicks was offended by celebrities selling their souls for a buck? Do they think he had genuine disdain for those celebs? The only reason that guy pontificated about advertising is because that is just what HE was selling, has fcuk all to do with the guy being puristic about such matters and above it all. He just knew if he did a McDonalds ad, he would be seen as an obvious liar and so not the guy he was saying he was, cynicism and attacking 'the man' was his commodity, why would he lessen that. Guy even made **** up to try and appear to be above selling his soul to marketing. Don't believe a word the guy ever said was heartfelt.

Well Malkovich probably does need the money considering he lost most of it in some Ponzi scheme.

I wish people would remember that Bill Hicks was a comedian, not some sort of guru.

He said things to get people to laugh.

And here's the big secret....... (he didn't even believe everything he said - he was an entertainer, not a f*cking prophet)

BS. Whist I do agree with Hicks being placed on some sort of pedestal is wrong, how can you say he didn't believe in what he preached, is that just your opinion or did he share this knowledge with you over a couple of pints?

Well George certainly needed the money anyway, to pay for his expensive smugness-reduction surgery. *smiles smugly*
