    In relation to recent eurovision...

    Which one is correct?

    Twelve points go to Ireland.

    or

    Twelve points goes to Ireland.

    It really should be the first one, but since the points are given in regular chunks (eight, ten, twelve), I hear a lot of people use the singular with "twelve-points" as the name of the chunk. As in, "The twelve-points [chunk] goes to Ireland."
