I'm in the process of buying a iMac and have two machines in mind at the moment. Just looking for advice as to which is the better machine.

    3.06 ghz core2duo 27"
    3.2 ghz core i3 27"

I'll be mainly doing music work on logic and fooling about with final cut, stuff I'm currently doing on my MacBook pro 2.6 ghz core2duo. Would the I3 processor make much of a difference or would I be better off to save the 300 euro difference and upgrade the ram in the core2duo machine?

In terms of upgradeability can the i3 machine be upgraded to i7 at some stage in the future as I'm led to believe they share the same socket type?

    All information greatly appreciated

i3 is definitely worth the extra cash. indeed the i3 can be upgraded to an i7, i've done it.
