I need to find a good physio in Carlow and it was recently recommended to me to go to Clint Wilkie's practice. What are your experiences of him or the other physios in his practice? Are any of them any good?

    Thanks

Clint seems to be the best around.he has worked on lots of people I know who are involved in sport at a high level and they all swear by him.

Not sure about clint I was seen by on of his staff and he knew his stuff, charged a bit much compared to other guys around town IMO...I'd highly recomend Anthony Geoghan if you get a chance.

Clint and the 2 guys working with him have built up a great reputation, Maeve Stanley who I think has just moved to a new place in Rathnapish is someone that I have used and I found her very good too. Both of these people are fully qualified chartered physiotherapists. Just so people are aware, Star Geoghegan is not a chartered physio even though many people speak highly of him. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I had a problem a couple of months back and went to Star first because I know him and have alot of time for him but think he only made things worse.

Then I heard alot of good things about Clint Wilkie who I tried to make an appointment with but he was too busy so agreed to see one of the other guys. He knew his stuff and I felt an improvement straight away. But after 4 sessions at €50 a go, he wasn't getting me over the finishing line after I doing everything he had asked me to do. So I stopped going and felt a little disappointed in the end. He looked young though so I put it down to lack of experience maybe.

Next time I will wait to see Clint himself because I dont want to waste another 200 quid.

    Thanks for all the advice.

Setanta 1974, which physio within Clint Wilkie's practice did you go see?

I would rather not say 709. For all I know you could be Clint himself and I don't want to get any one fired. Sorry.

Clint himself is who my friends use. Don't know about the others.

Have been going to Clint for years (for different things!), find him excellent and have recommended him to all my family and friends - who now all go to him.

Setanta1974, do ring Clint and leave a message asking him personally to ring you back. Tell him you got no relief after 4 sessions with one of his team and ask for a consultation with him. He's very decent (they just did that 40 days of Lent free Pilates classes for the Carlow Hospice) and i'm sure he'd sort you for free.

He's busy because he's good and he keeps up to date and continues to educate himself. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Had a bad case of ITB last year which stopped me running for months. Went to Carmel Callaghan in Carlow Rehabilitation and Sport Injury Centre down in Graiguecullen and she sorted me out within 3 sessions. Then had ankle tendon problems later in the year and again was sorted in a few sessions by one of her collegues. Couldnt give higher recommendation and she was cheap compared to many other physios around town.

I will give the exercises I was given to do one more week and if my problem isn't gone by then, I will give Clint a call and see what he thinks

Tony Devine in Leighlinbridge is very very good and lots of people in the area swear by him. PM me if you want his humber.

I've always used Ken Blanche and found him very good! Family and friends have used him too and thought he was very good!

are the best physios in Carlow, Ken Blanche trained with Star years ago and they fell out, they both are only good for rubs but thats about it, just quacks, Ken just liked to put that tens machine on you for laziness sake and then a bit of a rub, hes no physio, Star is good for some things , but ive been mis diagnosed by him numerous times

Damien and Carmel both are real Physios, its easy to just write on the side of a van you are when you are not, this sector needs to be more regulated, I Went to CLint and a different physio was there and mis diagnosed me also, only one fixed me up and back running again was Damien

I've been to all the physios you mentioned above but they all fall short of Tony Devine. I had a long standing back and calf problem and he was able to right both of them after a couple of sessions. I had spent hundreds (if not thousands) on other physios throughout Carlow without any improvement.
